"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

The faithfulness of God

The faithfulness of God

Each attribute of God functions perfectly and harmoniously with the other attributes, His immutability tells us of His faithfulness. That God is immutable means that He is not subject to change (Malachi_3:6), Every promise that He has promise He will bring to pass, every word He has spoken He will fulfill, is there any promise that God had spoken and He has not been faithful to fulfill it? He will defiantly fulfill it in due time, we might not know the time but we sure do know of His faithfulness. The psalmist puts it this way ” Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. ” (Psa 22:4 – 5).

We are confident because of God' faithfulness, we can trust Him and as well as love Him For He is trustworthy, when Paul taught Titus about the hope of eternal life he based it upon God' faithfulness , he reminded him that the hope of eternal life was given to us by God who can not lie (Titus 1:2). Anyone who tells a lie cannot be trusted but God is not like a man that He can lie (Num_23:19) . He alone is faithful; we can trust and rely upon Him because He remains faithful (2Ti_2:13)

The Old Testament is full of rich promises concerning God' people, all these promises were fulfilled in Christ save those only that are eschatological and are to be fulfilled in the future. The life of Christ, His death and resurrection demonstrated the true faithfulness of God, all that God promised from the beginning of time was fulfilled in Christ.

God is Omnipotent, all powerful, nothing is too hard for Him (Jer_32:27), He can never fail to perform what He has promised, what He said He will do that He will do. He promised to bring believers into a state of glory and we are confident as we wait patiently for the promise knowing that He will not delay neither will He fail, He promised to save us and He did Saved us by the blood of Christ and how can He not then Bring us into the state of glory like He promised? What can hinder Him?

The promise of God bringing all impenitent sinners into eternal condemnation is also faithful and will in due time come to pass, God will not pity any sinner on that day but will exercise His justice upon them like He had promised.

2Ti 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
2Ti 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
